Principal’s Message

The first quarter of school went by SO quickly and all of a sudden it is November!!

November is a time to be thankful, and one thing that I love to do is show our staff our appreciation. You can help me do that, by sending our staff members notes of appreciation this month! Using the “THANKFUL” link you can send a message of thanks to any of our staff members! Teachers, Aides, Bus Drivers, anyone! Each morning I will send your messages to help encourage and brighten the day of our staff! Never underestimate the power of positive words!

We continue to be “Rey’s of Sunshine” at Monterey by practicing being Respectful, Safe and Responsible! Have you gotten some special mail from your child’s teacher?

Speaking of safety! I want to make sure to remind everyone that our bus lot is for our SCHOOL BUS transportation only! This year we’ve already had to turn 10 + cars away from the bus lot during arrival and dismissal. This is a HUGE safety concern. Please make sure you are following our transportation plan, respecting signs around our building, and sharing the correct way to drop off and pick up with friends and family who might not be used to our parking lots. You can review our Drop Off and Pick Up Transportation Plan! This plan keeps all of our students and staff safe!

Coming up on November 11th we will celebrate Veteran’s Day with a very special program featuring all of our students. Our program will begin promptly at 9 AM! We look forward to welcoming our families and Veterans close to our hearts. Please plan to carpool as much as you are able, as we always expect a large crowd.
