Principal’s Message

We are off to a fantastic start to the school year! It has been wonderful to see our Monterey Mustangs settling into routines, building friendships, and showing excitement for learning.

This year we continue to grow our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) initiatives, reminding students daily that Monterey Mustangs will:

• Be Responsible

• Be Safe

• Be Respectful

New expectation posters will be displayed throughout the building, and teachers are reviewing them daily so students know exactly what success looks like in every area of our school.

In September, we are also beginning new positive initiatives around our school wide theme:

🌟 Be a “Rey of Sunshine” at Monterey! 🌟

Students will be recognized for their positive choices and will soon learn more about how they can earn chances to visit our new book vending machine—an exciting way to celebrate great behavior while encouraging a love for reading.

Finally, don’t miss the details our first big fundraiser of the year, Domino's Slice the Price Cards. Your support helps us provide enriching opportunities for our students, and we are grateful for your partnership.
